American Guinea Pig: Bloodshock (2015)

Bloodshock is the second entry in the American Guinea Pig series. A man is imprisoned and is tortured in various ways by a doctor who then uses the mans blood to inject into himself. The man discovers a female captive in the cell next to him and they communicate via little messages written on pieces of paper. They bond over their endless agony and suffering leading to some grotesque, blood soaked passion.

It seems that the torture of the man and woman does something to their blood so the doctor can inject it as some form of drug. Sadly though it's never explained why he's doing these experiments, who he's working for, how long he's been doing it, etc. Even an end credits scene involving a family being killed doesn't offer any insight. To be honest I found this one to be quite boring!. The endless shots of someone being wheeled up and down a corridor in a wheelchair quickly gets on your nerves. As does the long drawn out shots of the man in his cell doing fuck all except whimpering and wandering around. As with the first in the series this should have been cut down by a good 30-40 mins as at 1hr 38mins it's way too long.

I did like the fact that most of it was filmed in B/W then changes to colour for the blood soaked climax. Some of the gore effects are good, but, some of the torture scenes are just laughably fake looking. Some of the dialogue delivery, especially from the guy that plays the orderly is also just awful!. Seriously, could they not do a second take or two for some of his stuff?, or at least find someone better to play him as that guy was dreadful!.

As with Bouquet Of Guts And Gore I can't recommend this one. If you're into the more extreme side of cinema then you'll probably want to check it out, but like me I doubt you'll watch it more than once or twice. One day I may have a go at creating my own edited version and see if that makes watching it any less boring.
