by some as the best of the trilogy, I actually think this is the worst!. It was
a big let down after the first one for a few reasons. Firstly they added a
couple of new characters which wasn't needed. The constant shouting and
swearing, although a little annoying in the first is so over the top here that
it really gets on your nerves very quickly. They also doubled up on the gross
nastiness which to be honest got a little boring.
We get
some incest added, a headless, maggot covered baby in a bin, one of the guys is
found having sex with the corpse of a child in a bathtub, there's self harm,
people having their heads smashed in with hammers, and a pointless 10-15 minute
scene of two girls tied together in a basement and the new female killer makes
herself vomit all over them a couple of times, the girls then vomit before
they're slaughtered. The vomiting was all real and the director Fred Vogel said
it smelt so disgusting in there when they'd finished. The whole point of this
film seems to just see how much nastiness they could fit into it's run time,
but it's so over the top that, as said, it becomes boring pretty
quickly.
The
effects are excellent again with some of the gore being almost to realistic,
which isn't a bad thing of course!. The dialogue, as with the first is mostly
improvised and the picture and sound quality has the same low quality, degraded
feel as the first. I can't recommend this one, but if you do watch it then I
guess it'll depend of your tolorance for seeing people vomit and just being
gross as to the amount of enjoyment you get from it.
