Bloody Chainsaw Girl Returns: Revenge Of Nero (2019)

My rating - 5/10

Giko returns and still has a love for her oversized chainsaw. Nero has a love for cyborgs and when they both meet they engage in battle.

If you enjoyed the first Bloody Chainsaw Girl movie then you'll find plenty to enjoy in this second outing. This is the first part of a two parter that concludes with the third entry. At only 52 mins it doesn't outstay its welcome and is packed with lots of over the top gore, although like the first the spraying CGI blood looks pretty bad. There's still a few decent practical effects as well and the acting is what you'd expect from this type of thing. The action is fun and there are a couple of genuine laughs along the way. Although I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the first it's still entertaining and well worth a watch for those who like these strange Japanese exploitation movies.
