Death Bed (1977)

(AKA: Death Bed The Bed That Eats)

A bed in an old abandoned house is possessed by a demon and anyone, or anything that gets on it is devoured alive.

This is one of those genuine cases where the phrase "you need to see it to believe it" rings true. It's almost impossible to describe just how surreal, bizarre and just plain weird Death Bed is. And yet, it's also strangely watchable if you're looking for something totally different. Yeah, it's a bad film for sure. The acting is poor, the dialogue is often dumb and the effects are pretty silly.

So the story goes, the film was unfinished and sat on a shelf for ages until someone ran off with a pirate copy of it. This somehow got released on VHS back in the pre-cert days here in the UK, and If it wasn't for that happening then it's a movie that may never have seen the light of day. Only the title and the directors name appeared on the print with no other credits, and when watching it, it just looked and felt, well unfinished, and that added an even more surreal feel to it all.

As said it's not a good film, not even close, but I do have a soft spot for it and I'd actually give it a mild recommendation to anyone who likes bad movies and thinks they've seen it all.
