A
brother and sister are cursed in prehistoric times and survive for thousands of
years on a diet of the contents of ripped open stomachs to keep themselves
looking young. In modern day Los Angeles people start turning up dead with
their stomachs ripped apart as the siblings continue their search for a
cure.
Probably best known today for being scream queen legend Linnea
Quigley's first ever film role, and for the fact it was banned in the UK as a
video nasty, although it only made the section 2 list and was eventually
removed after cuts for a re-release. Aldo Ray, Barbara Bain and a young Tammy
Taylor (also in her first starring role) appear in this low budget effort that
despite being quite poorly made manages to be strangely
entertaining.
The
effects are not great but still quite gory and it's the scenes of entrails
being pulled and eaten that I'm sure caused it to get banned. Some bad acting
and dialogue, a little nudity and an explosion, along with the gore should be
enough to keep fans of bad movies happy. Not a good film by any means but I've
always had a soft spot for it so would recommend at least one viewing for those
that haven't seen it.
