Friday 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)

After being brought back to life once again from his watery grave Jason stalks a group of a group of high school graduates who are on a cruise ship heading for New York.

This is another entry that has a bad reputation, and yeah, it's definitely not one of the best, but it's nowhere near as bad as some say. The cast is the usual fun bunch that are just ripe to be slaughtered and we actually get one of two decent kills, but sadly most happen off screen again. The effects are decent just don't sit there and try and figure out out that cruise ship gets out of the lake and makes its way to New York. It's a mystery that's probably better left unsolved.

The movie definitely picks up in the last 30 mins as Jason wanders around Manhattan killing and freaking out anyone he comes into contact with. There's a little more in the way of a supernatural element in this and for me that does spoil the ending a bit, but overall if you go into this one with an open mind then there's plenty of fun to be had.
