Four old men with a dark secret are haunted by the vision of a young woman. When the son of one of them arrives home for the funeral of his brother a series of events leads him to unravel their long standing secret.

John Houseman, Melvyn Douglas, Douglas Fairbanks Jr and Fred Astaire star in this creepy and atmospheric ghost story which gives us plenty of chills, scares and some pretty decent gore. Craig Wasson is the son who has to learn the old mens secret and Alice Krige makes for a very pretty, but also scary, vengeful ghost.

This is a very well made movie and the acting from all involved is great. The effects are also well done with some pretty gruesome deaths. Thankfully this was made before filmmakers relied on loud noise jump scares so we get some genuinely good jumps along the way. It can be a bit slow moving in places, but on the plus side that also gives us time for characters to shine. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed this one so if you're a fan of spooky ghost stories then definitely check this one out.
