The Haunted House Of Horror (1969)

A group of teens get bored at a party and decide to go off and explore an old mansion that's been empty for a long time. They start to die one by one and it becomes clear that one of them is the killer.

The fashion, the dialogue and the music all scream late 1960s which definitely dates this film, but I love it for that!. It's a devisive movie and people seem to either like it or find it boring, I'm in the former camp and have always enjoyed this fun little British proto slasher. It can be a little slow in places but that doesn't spoil it, at least for me it doesn't.

The acting is fine from all involved and fans of TV and movies of the late 60s, early 70s will recognize a lot of faces here. It's light on gore but there are a couple of decent moments of carnage, there's also one or two decent scares along the way too. I'd recommend this one to anyone who's looking for some early British horror and who likes the wonderful 1960s fashion.
