A young woman takes a trip to a secluded lakeside cabin so she can relax and work on her first book. Drawing the atention of four local men she finds herself sexually assaulted by them over and over. She's left for dead but survives and thoughts of revenge consume her until she decides to act on it.

Unrelenting, brutal and tough to watch, this slice of 70s rape/revenge can still shock people today. It's one of those movies that you'll either like or hate and there's very little middle ground. The many rape scenes are savage and about as realistic as it can get. The acting is very good with Camillie Keaton being excellent as Jennifer. The revenge scenes involving death by hanging, castration, axe and motorboat blades are all done very well with the castration scene being the nasty highlight.

Banned in the UK as a video nasty it stayed on the list until the end to become one of the infamous final 39. It's one of the rare cases where you can see why it made the list at the time. It's a well made movie but definitely not for everyone, and for everyone like me that likes it you'll find someone that will tell you it's the most worthless piece of trash ever made. The UK releases (apart from the original VHS release) are all cut so if you want to see this one fully uncut then you'll either have to track down the expensive Astra/Wizard VHS releases or import an DVD.
