Jason X (2002)

At the beginning of the 21st century Jason is captured and cryogenically frozen. four centuries later his body is discovered and sent into space where he thaws out and begins to slaughter every member of the spaceship crew.

I don't care what anyone says, I find this entry highly entertaining. The characters are another fun bunch, there some new ideas, some work, some don't and there's also a good amount of inventive death scenes, the frozen face smashed into a table is a standout and really well done. As a bonus we even get a brief appearence from David Cronenberg at the start which was a fun surprise.

The effects are good for the most part with only a few early CGI ones looking pretty dated now. The acting is about what you expect, but as always you don't watch a movie like this for award winning performances do you?. One of the best parts is seeing the upgraded Jason and here he looks awesome. As with a lot of these movies go in with an open mind and treat this one as a bit of dumb fun and there's plenty of entertainment to be had. I'd definitely recommend this one.
