When a
brother and sister go to a remote cemetery to visit their fathers grave they're
attacked. Johnny is killed and Barbara escapes to an isolated house where she
encounters a small group of people hiding out there. Soon the house is under
siege from flesh hungry zombies.
You
really can't underestimate just how important and influential this movie is as
it pretty much changed horror cinema forever. Despite the low budget and lack
of experience everyone had while making it, it still manages to be atmospheric,
exciting and even a little shocking despite being well over 50 years old. It's
an iconic film despite it's obvious flaws.
The
acting, dialogue, production and direction are all fine, again, it was very low
budget. The gore was shocking at the time and the effects still look good
today. There's really little to say about this movie except if you haven't seen
it then do so, now!. If you have, and most will have numerous times, then go
and give it another watch.
