120 Days Of Sodom (1975)

During
the second world war in Northern Italy four depraved senoir government
officials order the kidnapping of nine young boys and girls. While in captivity
they are subjected to all manner of degrading acts for no other reson than to
entertain the officials.
Often
classed as one of, if not the most disturbing movie ever made, and with good
reason. The constant physical, verbal and sexual torture commited against the
youngsters, along with a literal feast of shit is repulsive and for most will
be too much to handle. Pier Paolo Pasolini created some great movies and
despite the horrific nature of Salo it's still a very well made film. The
acting, the script, the production and the music all work to create a movie
you'll never forget, if you manage to get through it that is.
This
is a movie that makes my top five most disturbing movies of all time but I
still think it's a great film and well worth watching if you can handle extreme
content. The director was murdered shortly before the films release so never
got to see it's impact. Also, in an interview with one of the young actors she
said that the mood while making it was fun with everyone having a good time and
playing lots of practical jokes on each other. It wasn't until the final edited
version was seen that they realised just how depressing and vile it ended up.
As said, it's well worth watching, but be warned, it'll stay with you
forever.
