The Faculty (1998)

A group of students notice their teachers are starting to act strange like drinking excessive amounts of water and being nasty and aggressive. It soon becomes clear that a strange parasite is causing the problem to spread, but where are they originating from?.

First off, what a cast!. Josh Hartnett, Salma Hayek, Robert Patrick, Famke Janssen, Piper Laurie and Elijah Wood are the star studded line up. I've always been a fan of this little sleeper hit and watching it again to refresh my memory for this site it still holds up really well. It has a couple of genuinely creepy moments, the cast look like they're having a lot of fun and the early CGI, mixed with some great practical effects still looks better than a lot of modern day crap we get now!.

There's definitely an Invasion Of The Body Snatchers vibe here and to be honest they pull it off pretty well. There's also some good gore involving fingers being snipped off, faces melted, parasites crawling under skin and a pen through the eye gag. If you haven't seen this for a while then it's well worth a revisit, and if you haven't seen it before then I'd highly recommend it!.
