A young woman inherits a family home located on a remote island. She's warned not to go there as it's haunted and if she does she will die. A radio presenter and his bulter are on the run from the mob and all three end up on the island. They soon discover that the tales of ghosts may be a smoke screen to hide the fact that there's hidden treasure there. Soon they're all fighing for their lives from more than just ghosts.

Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard team up again a year after starring in The Cat And The Canary for another slice of horror comedy. Hope is his usual witty self and Goddard is beautiful as always. Add to this the wonderful Willie Best as Alex, the type of racial stereotype that you'd never get away with today, and you have a trio of characters that you'll enjoy the whole way through.

Very funny with some good atmosphere, this is a classic all the way. I'm probably in the minority here but I prefer The Cat And The Canary. but it's a close call. Either way watch both on a double bill and you'll have a great evening with plenty of genuine laughs.
