Two girls on a road trip through Germany end up stranded on a lonely road after their car breaks down. They come across an isolated house and decide to ask for help there. While inside they are drugged and wake up the next day tied to beds next to an Asian man who's also tied up. A german surgeon proceeds to explain to them that they're going to be used in an experiment to become the worlds first human centipede.

At least the concept of the film was original and it does contain one or two decent nasty moments, but overall it's just too silly to take seriously. To be honest I've always seen this as more of a black comedy than anything and in that respect it can be quite enjoyable. This was a movie that was hyped up to the max on social media, mainly by people that don't really watch much horror. In reality though the movie could never live up to the hype and it was a big let down for most horror fans.

It's low budget but does look pretty good. The acting is fine for the most part but the dialogue is often silly. Despite it's reputation it's not that gory with only a couple of fun, nasty moments. It's definitely campy, especially the over the top performance from the late Dieter Laser as Dr Heiter and overall I just think the film's okay. It's worth a look just because the concept is daft as hell just don't expect an over the top, brutal gorefest that it's been built up as.
