While excavating the ruins of an old convent an archaeoligist discovers a large, strange looking skull. Soon after the people of a small town nearby start to vanish. Could Lady Sylvia Marsh who's just returned to a nearby mansion know more about it all than she lets on?.

Controversial director Ken Russell brings us a wonderfully bizarre movie based on a story by Bram Stoker. This is one of those cases where you can genuinely say "They don't make em like this any more". A great cast including Amanda Donohoe, Catherine Oxenberg, Hugh Grant and Peter Capaldi, lots of gore, nudity, blasphemous imagery and plenty of campy acting all come together in a movie that you won't soon forget.

A staple back in the days of VHS and one I'd rent out over and over as there would always be something I missed on previous viewings. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for something unique and fun, and you'll be singing the song The D'Ampton Worm for days to come.
