When bodies start turning up looking like they've been viciously attacked and ripped apart a surly cop puts the blame on a hippy antiques dealer and a young woman who tags along with him after an accident. When it becomes clear that the attacks are being done by the living dead they have to gather evidence but the cop is hot on their trail and doesn't believe their story about zombies.

This Italian / Spanish movie, filmed in England is one of the best zombie movies ever made!. It's full of creepy atmosphere and plenty of fun gore. Ray lovelock is great as the hippy antiques dealer called George who's constantly harrassed by the cops, and the beautiful Christina Galbo is excellent as Edna who's dragged into it all when she accidently hits George's mototbike and puts it out of action. Arthur Kennedy goes over the top as the cop on the hunt for the killer/s but is fun to watch too.

In the gore department we get impalings, throat rippings, an axe in the head, flesh munching, a cop having his stomach ripped open, a nurse having her tits ripped off and her intestines pulled out, plus a nip from a zombie baby. The locations are stunning too as some of it was filmed in the Peak Disctrict.

Christina Galbo lost her husband shortly before filming started so her performance here is even more amazing and I'm sure her shocked and upset expressions didn't need much acting to achive. This one comes highly recommended for those who haven't seen it before, and if you have then it's well worth re-visiting.
