Edward Lionheart, an actor who loves playing Shakespear roles takes revenge on critics who denied him a coverted "best actor" award by awarding it to a new, young actor.

This british horror comedy is an absolute gem!. Vincent Price is in top form as Edward Lionheart and this is easily my favourite role of his. He takes his revenge on the critics using deaths from various Shakespear plays and there's some quite brutal ones in here. We get drownings, hearts cut out, decapitations, spearings, burnings, electrocutions, one victim is dragged along a stone driveway face down by a horse, and in one of the movies most memorable scenes The late, great Robert Morley is forced fed his beloved dogs until he chokes to death.

The cast is excellent, and along with the aformentioned Morely and Price we're also treated to roles for Diana Rigg, Authur Lowe, Madeline Smith, Ian Hendry, Milo O' Shear, Joan Hickson, Dennis Price, Eric Sykes and many other well known British actors who all look like they were having a lot of fun making this one.

The humour sits very well with the horror and gore, and the effects are all very well done. It also has an amazing score and you'll be humming that opening and closing theme tune for a long time after the movie is over. Add to all this a pretty exciting, fiery climax and you've got a must see film all any fan of British horror. Highly recommened!.
