Vase De Noces is an Belgian art horror that's gained a reputation for being pretty nasty and disturbing. This is probably because a lot of people got to know about it under it's more infamous title of The Pig Fucking Movie!.

Filmed in B/W and devoid of any dialogue we get to watch as a man wanders around his farmyard, feed his animals, ploughs his field, bathe, eat, put on a blindfold for a game of blind mans bluff with his chickens. He collects his shit and piss in jars, he places doll heads on birds and on a couple of occasions he has sex with his pig in fairly graphic detail, although, thankfully it's all simulated, at least I hope it was. There have been some reports that it was real but I've never found evidence of that. After the sow gives birth to weird looking piglets they prefer to stay with their mother so he hangs them all. He kills the sow, buries himself with it in the field, but then thinks it's a dumb idea so he goes back to the farm, eats a load of his shit from the jars, vomits it all back up into his tin bath, then hangs himself!.

Despite how it all may sound this film is so damn boring!. For the most part literally nothing happens, and when we finally get to any of the "nasty" stuff it's nothing fans of disturbing cinema won't have seen many times before. Yeah, the shit eating and vomiting is gross as hell, but it's also pointless and the only reason it was put in is for shock for shock sake!. It has been said that this film takes place in a time where he is the only person left alive and his actions are born from his loneliness and slowly decaying sanity. Maybe, maybe not, there's nothing in it to suggest that in any way.

There's nothing to say about the "acting" as there isn't really any!. Again, there's no dialogue so you can't complain about the script and why it took three writers to create this I'll never understand, and the cinematography isn't anything special. If you're looking for art horror then there's lots of better films out there to spend your time on!. I really can't recommend this one, and if you want to see it based on it's reputation then I think you're going to be very disappointed!.
