Hammer House Of Horror - Episode 10 - Guardian Of The Abyss

Tina buys a strange mirror known as a scrying glass from an antiques auction. After being approached by a fellow dealer in the carpark offering her increasing amounts of money to buy it from her she believes it may be worth more than she thought. A friend of hers takes it to get it apraised but on the road home he nearly runs over a young women fleeing from a satanic cult. It quickly becomes clear the scrying glass is far more powerful than he thinks and his life is now in danger from the cult.

Tied with The Silent Scream as my favourite episode in the series. The occult tale is excellent and genuinely creepy in places. It also has a good twist ending which I honestly didn't see coming the first time I saw it. Rosalyn Landor is excellent as the young woman Alison whos trying to escape the clutches of the satanic cult. I have to admit I had a crush on her so that mixed with the occult subject matter was always going to put this one high in my rankings. 9/10.
